A successful secondary school in Northwest Bristol, emphasizes creative teaching and high standards. They prioritize student and staff wellbeing, aiming to inspire every student to reach their potential.

Currently seeking a Science Teacher to cover from May 2024  until the end of the academic year. However, this position has the potential to role on into September for the right educator! The position is 0.6-0.8FTE but could potentially be made full time through teaching other subjects.

What we are looking for:

  • An enthusiastic teacher with a passion for Science, STEM subjects and committed to improving teaching and learning
  • Someone with a good understanding of relevant curriculum areas, including a good understanding of assessment and monitoring procedures
  • Experience of teaching or teaching practice of Science at all Key Stages. Successful A Level teaching is desirable.
  • Experience of teaching Chemistry would be an advantage
  • A willingness to learn and apply new techniques that contribute to high quality teaching and learning
  • A teacher who expects and demonstrates the highest standards
  • A teacher who can enthuse a range of students with varying needs

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • An enhanced child only DBS
  • A relevant science degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
  • Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE
  • Experience delivering the science curriculum or employed within the science sector
  • Confidence to teach in front of class of students
  • Enthusiasm for science!
