About the role: 

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated qualified Science Teacher looking for your next role in a supportive mainstream secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Science Teacher for a secondary school in Oldbury. The role involves teaching KS3 and KS4 students across all science disciplines, including biology, chemistry and physics. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, support pupils in preparation for exams and help raise achievement across the department.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated teacher who is passionate about science and eager to make a positive impact on students' learning and progress.

Role Responsibilites: 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach biology, chemistry and physics, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners

  • Assess, record and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and support

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and achievement

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies

  • Work collaboratively with the science department and wider school staff to enhance teaching and learning

  • Support students in preparation for assessments and GCSE examinations

  • Participate in departmental meetings, CPD sessions and wider school activities

Role Requirements: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Specialism in science (biology, chemistry or physics) with strong subject knowledge across all areas

  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students within a UK secondary school setting

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to differentiate lessons to support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND learners

  • A passion for inspiring students and promoting scientific curiosity

  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices (training can be provided)

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
