As a Secondary Music Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students practical and theory-based lessons, building confidence, structure, and consistency.

Key responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3 and KS4
Deliver practical and theory lessons
Support performance and composition
Prepare students for GCSE coursework
Manage behaviour and lesson flow
Encourage participation and confidence
Track progress and provide feedback

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and organised
Students understand expectations
Participation is consistent
Behaviour is controlled

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Music or strong musical background
Confidence in practical teaching
Organisation and classroom management

What success looks like
Students participate confidently
Skills improve over time
Lessons run smoothly and effectively

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with music or performance backgrounds
