Permanent Head of Science Role Available Within OUTSTANDING school in West London

The PWR team at Teaching Personnel are working exclusively with an 11-16 secondary school located in the North Kensington area of London to assist them in securing a Head of Science on a permanent basis beginning in September. Please see below for further information.

Salary: £36,745 - £56,959 (MPS/UPS Inner London) plus TLR1b £10,696

Duties and responsibilities

· Develop and implement policies and practices for the Science department which reflect our school’s commitment to high achievement, effective teaching and learning

· Create a climate which enables staff to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards the subject and confidence in teaching it

· Use data effectively to identify pupils who are underachieving in the subject, and create and implement effective plans to support those pupils where necessary

· Analyse and interpret relevant national, local and school data, as well as research and inspection evidence, to inform policies, practices, expectations, targets and teaching methods

· With the involvement of relevant staff, establish short, medium and long term plans for the development and resourcing of the subject

· Monitor the progress made in achieving subject plans and targets, evaluate the effects on teaching and learning, and use this analysis to guide further improvement

· To be responsible for pupil outcomes in the Science department
