Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Part-Time DT Technician to join a secondary school in Weymouth. This is a great opportunity for someone with practical Design Technology experience who enjoys working in a workshop environment and supporting teachers and students.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Design Technology department, helping to prepare materials and equipment, maintain workshops and ensure practical lessons run smoothly.
Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons
Supporting teachers with practical classroom activities
Maintaining clean, safe and organised workshops
Checking and maintaining tools and equipment
Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs where appropriate
Assisting with stock control and organisation of materials
Helping to prepare resources for student projects
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
We are looking for someone who is:
Practical, reliable and well organised
Confident working with tools, machinery and materials
Safety-conscious and able to follow workshop procedures
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Passionate about practical learning and supporting young people
Experience in Design Technology, engineering, construction, woodworking, metalwork or a similar practical environment would be highly beneficial.
Previous experience as a DT Technician within a school is desirable but not essential.
