Science Teacher required for an over-subscribed Secondary school in Chorley.

Maternity cover starting from January 2023.

The Governors wish to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of science to cover a maternity leave, and to work within an excellent science department as it moves into the next stage of its development. This school is an 11-16 mixed school with over 850 pupils on roll and was rated as Good by Ofsted in the last inspection.

You will required to join the school in January on a full time basis.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well qualified teacher to teach across the full ability and age range, who is committed to raising standards by inspiring learners. If you believe that young people deserve nothing less than the best and have the passion, drive and ambition to make a difference in a key subject area, you would be a welcome addition to our school family.


The successful candidate will:

· Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven track record of exam performance

· Have a strong commitment to engaging students of all abilities

· Have the ability and desire to take on a substantial leadership role within the department, under the direction of the Head of Department.

· Be innovative and inspirational in their classroom delivery

· Have a strong desire to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
