The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a specialism in either Biology, Chemistry, or Physics being welcomed. The school has well-equipped laboratories and a strong emphasis on hands-on experiments, encouraging students to develop their investigative and analytical skills.
- Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons tailored to a range of learning abilities
- Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting content to suit different levels of understanding
- Encourage students to develop scientific thinking and problem-solving skills
- Utilise a range of teaching methods, including practical experiments and demonstrations
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and intervention where necessary
- Work collaboratively with the Science department to refine and enhance schemes of work
- Contribute to extracurricular Science initiatives, such as STEM clubs, competitions, and field trips
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 (specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics preferred)
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the Sciences
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice
- Ability to contribute to whole-school STEM initiatives and enrichment activities
