Teacher of Science – Jan start – full time temporary
A position has become available for a teacher of Science at a school based in the Trafford region of south Manchester on a full time temporary basis. The school is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school that services an excellent surrounding catchment area. It is easily accessible via tram (5 minute walk from nearest Metrolink stop) from the city centre as well as bus – should you have access to a vehicle as well this would be an added bonus.
The school have excellent facilities including a state of the art science lab, and a very supportive staff network that communicate regularly with one another to make sure everyone is supported and organized throughout the day. The role would involve teaching general science (a mix of Chemistry, Biology and Physics) to KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) students. This includes planning and delivering high quality lessons, being responsible for pupil assessment and attainment levels, and engaging with school life outside of the classroom i.e. school trips, fundraisers, parents evenings etc.
The school are looking to interview and appoint a teacher of science before the Christmas holidays with a view to the candidate beginning at the start of January. Whilst the role is initially temporary (contracted up until the end of the Spring term), there is the possibility of it becoming permanent after the contact has finished.
This role would be an ideal for anybody looking to gain extra teaching experience or wanting to expand their subject knowledge. Both NQT/ECT’s and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
