The Role

I am currently assisting my work force partner school in the Colchester area in their search to appoint a suitably qualified Science Teacher.  You will be required to teach a range of science subjects to KS3 and KS4 and the position is full-time, starting in October 2021.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and will be able to plan innovative and engaging lessons that will meet the needs of children with a variety of abilities.  You will need to be prepared to plan and mark as you will be teaching KS4 students in preparation for their GCSE Exams. The students at this school are no longer in a mainstream setting and can display a range of challenging behaviours. The suitable Science Teacher will need to be experienced or confident in working with these students.

Requirements - To be considered for the Teacher of Science position, you will:

  • Have experience teaching Science subject areas to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 level
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of secondary teachers
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons
  • DBS on the update service or be willing to get one
